Empower yourself to play piano creatively and joyfully without the frustration
The only online piano course that teaches you to think music and then break through your frustrations to play with conviction and joy
Traditional piano lessons only tell you what to do, not how to think musically. So you can't solve a new problem or figure out how to play your favorite song without paying someone else to show you how.
Play and Sing enables you to understand music by learning your own vocabulary so you can play the music you want to play
Get immediate access to lessons where you'll learn to hear a Resting Tone and play a Bass line. Includes video lesson, Tonal Pattern vocal exercise, downloadable Play along track, and keyboard chord chart. Click the button below to order.

In these lessons I walk you step by step through the process of learning music and playing it on the piano creatively and effortlessly.

In Lesson Two you learn to find the Resting Tone in music and lock it in your mind. A necessary skill so you can play easily. This lesson is available in the Preview package you can order here.
How to hear Major and Minor
Lesson Three is available in the full course. This is where you learn to hear the difference between Major and Minor so that you can play by ear and improvise in those Tonalities.

Lessons on improvising bass lines, chords, and melodies
In the full course you'll tackle each of these important components of music separately before combining them in the final Lesson.

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:
Can an adult beginner learn with this?
Absolutely. I've taught beginners and experts of all ages piano for over 20 years. The method I use in Play and Sing is by far the most effective way to learn to play piano.
Can a child learn with Play and Sing?
Play and Sing is great fun and it also invites some serious work. A dedicated 10 year old could do it. For younger than 10, hearing an older sibling or parent in the household will provide powerful benefits for the younger child.
Young children learn in sophisticated ways many piano teachers haven't studied. Yet birth to 9 is a special time for learning music. I've studied the way young children learn music and created this course so that when parents and siblings do it, the younger children will be learning too and will even join in on the exercises.
Watch and see! It's magical. Everyone benefits.
How long does it take to work through the course?
Play and Sing is dense with ideas you will want to explore. You could finish the course in one month. But there are enough side quests (including transposing to every key) that you can easily spend six months to a year growing at your own pace.
It's not a course you will want to work through as quickly as possible. It invites multiple viewings and deep thought. You'll be so engaged with your new musical thoughts and skills you won't notice time passing as you grow.
